HANS REICHEL: Lower Lurum
Hans Reichel: homemade doubleneck guitar, daxophone
NOW AVAILABLE VIA DOWNLOAD!
This was Reichel's first full-length release that combined his custom guitar and the daxophone, a collection of spatula-shaped pieces of wood that he bows to get human and animal-like vocal textures. Reichel painstakingly overdubbed melodies and rhythms to create a suite of songs that is richly textured, moving from the operatic to the primal. This recording was commissioned by Rastascan and remains one of our favorite releases. Check out the Amazon and iTunes links below to get a taste!
"Reichel's differently shaped daxophones have voices which range from angelic to flatulent, from the primordial breaths of a didgeridoo to the coloratura runs of a soprano singer." --Option
